The River Lark

The River Lark runs through Icklingham and is considered one of the last remaining chalk streams, meaning it is a river that originates from underground chalk aquifers, making it a rare and valuable habitat. Chalk streams have unique ecological characteristics and there are only around 200 chalk streams globally, with most located in England.
